Catherine Deneuve's look was always rather inspiring to me especially with the fashions of the 1960's. I used her appearance in the 1967 film Belle du Jour as a starting point. This was going to be a test only piece and for experimenting using different mediums together, but as I finished it I felt that maybe its illustrative look was quite appealing, swirling Autumn leaves added the final touch.Hopefully the viewer will enjoy my little mixed media homage to French cinema too.
Materials used ink, watercolour, and pastels.
