Description Looking at this it almost seems as though it was done by three different artists.

Some work was done on the battlecruiser version of the IJN Amagi, as you can see on the upper right panel, and since that ship was eventually completed as an aircraft carrier it made us think of the various types of craft that could serve as a battleship and as a carrier, battlecarriers, interdiction assault ships (IAS) and such.

It's odd how l ended up putting the most detail into a detail of a secondary turret, probably the only saving grace in this piece, although that quintet of turrets would take up the space meant for a motor launch, as you can see in the sketch on the right of the Lego models.

Incidentally, the sketch is on the same page as a sketch of the USS Kearsarge, the foe of the CSS Alabama, the latter can be seen on the same page as well.

The Lego models on the lower panel, the middle one is just half a ship, funnily enough the smoke stack looks like a command bridge, kinda makes one think of the MC140 Scythe battlecruisers from the Star Wars Legacy comics, the one on the left would be the closest to the actual USS Iowa IAS concept, the one on the right is just crazy, looks like a lobster, it's easy to get carried away while working on the LDD program, for instance, you place a 1x2 hinge to make it look like an anti-air enplacement next to the flight deck, that's okay, but then you go and attach another hinge, with an extra flight deck, and then another one, there was even a moment when we added some domes to resemble the gravity well projectors used by interdictor cruisers such as the Immobilizers, although on a sea-going vessels those domes would look more like the gas containers aboard an LNG tanker.
