This is fantastic! Is there a version without the deviant art stamp I could use as my background?

You're a common theif. + you make me sick. I know the owner of this image and just because it's from Flikr, it doesn't give you a right to repost it as your own. I hate people like you, you ruin peoples enthusiam to create beautiful images, like this. I suggest you take it down + apologise to Ricdiggle. kaithnxbai.

Hi,

I appreciate your efforts to stamp out copyright theft, but I suggest you take another closer look before you send such an aggressive message.

Having googled the name you gave me, I can only assume you are referring to the image at
link , which I can assure you I have never seen before until today.

If you look again, I think you will notice that despite the two images being similar subject, it is not the same image at all. ( his is a lot brighter, and the colours are totally different) We didn't even use the same stock image to make our images. There are thousands of images all over the web of people applying this same process to images to get very similar results. Check this link for example.

I would also like to point out the image to which you are referring has a pretty significant watermark on it, which would have taken me more time to remove than to create the image from scratch.

If you are still not convinced, and you really do know this artist, then by all means show him my image, and have him explain to you that it is not his.

Thanks and Regards
Phillp

First off,
The original artist, is my step dad.
It isn't a stock image, he took it himself. Secondly, he only added the watermark recently because of so much theft of it. Thirdly, he asked me to find this image after recieving a tip off his work is being stolen, again. And he was convinced it was his work, so no he isn't going to explain it isn't his.

Well you found the wrong one! I used a stock image from SXC.HU, not his image.
Although we both applied the same procedure on a similar image, mine is totally different. I'm not going to argue about this with you any more. Get your facts straight and go away.

It never ceases to amaze me how a simple photoshop effect becomes "amazing." Especially this particular one, seriously, I've already seen like 10 freaking animals with this effect. Congratulations on being able to use Fractalius.

So do you say the same to those who know how to press the button on the top of a camera?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Forte925 In reply to phill-p [2009-03-11 19:12:41 +0000 UTC]

If their picture has no artistic value whatsoever, yes. There is a lot that goes into the composition and lighting of a photograph. You can't go randomly taking pictures and get good results. Which of course you could respond that you can't randomly apply effects and get good results, but Fractalius really isn't that hard to work, as evidence of the fact that you can find another 10 tiger photomanips that might not look just like yours, but similar enough.
