These are my five favorite ponies.Scene:
Fluttershy: "Oh..um...ow...e-excuse me..."
Derpy: "Hey, Fluttershy, look! Your cutie mark is flying away!"
Cheerilee: "Derpy, you're standing on Flutteryshy's tail and I think she'd appreciate if you moved."
Sweetie Belle: "What's wrong with Derpy, anyway?"
Applejack: "Ain't nuthin' really wrong with her. She's just...different. In a good way, Ah s'pose."
Why these five?
Fluttershy: She's what got me curious about MLP: FiM. And...d'awwwwwwwwwww.....
Derpy: Do I even need a reason?
Cheerilee: In my opinion Cheerilee is best pony.
Sweetie Belle: She's not a little Rarity.
Applejack: Simple, straight forward, no bull. Works hard, rests hard.
Screw coloring. It's grey-scale until I get a scanner that doesn't f-up the colors.
MLP: FiM belongs to LF and Hasbro

Thanks! My practice is my finished work - or vice-versa. I usually draw from memory but will check references if needed. This [link] is the opposite of what I just said. I relied heavily on a vector for the base but changed the design to suit my needs.
I think what it comes down to is what kind of pony you're trying to draw: accurate or your own design?

I think I want mine to be accurate, but sometimes I like to try my own design. I think I've started to get better at drawing ponies recently. I hope I get to be as good as you!

If you're not doing it yet be sure to start with the head. I find that easiest. Plus it's easy to draw - just a circle with a couple of triangles for the ears and muzzle. Big head, small body.
I checked out your ponies and I think you're on to something. Keep working on it! You can only get better.
