I was not back home in my black-and-white photoed world, where men wore cigarettes on their fingers and women laughed at their homeliness. Suddenly there were sirens, and the cobble-stone beneath my feet was concrete, each particle held together with a substance I couldn't detect. The lights were blinding, the noises were baffling, and the fumes that were now entering my nose held me in a trance. Never had I really noticed my heart beating- only now, was it a dull and obvious thump.
This city and world- how cruel, how cruel.
