Loki. The trickster. How could she of missed it? She knew him so well by his reputation, has seen his face in a dozen books. One-Eye had given her what warning he could; even sugar and sack called him Crookmouth. And the biggest clue was right there on his arm.

Kaen. the fire-rune. Reversed.

"I know you" said Maddy "you're-"
"whats a name?" Loki grinned "Wear it like a coat, turn it, burn it, throw it aside and borrow another. One-Eye knows; you should ask him."

"But Loki died" she said, shaking her head. "He died on the field of Ragnarok!"

"not quite" he pulled a face.'

now this is Loki from my favourite book, Runemarks!
omg i got the book 4 yrs ago and i swear it is still my fave book, and i have read it 6 times already hahaha. If you havn't read it you should!

anyway in the book, Loki is a Norse god or a Aesir (seer - Folk) he is the god of trickery and is a child of choas. it also states somewhere that he is a war starter and a war ender.
omg he is so awsome.

oh and yea he is an actual Norse god, though there are many versions of him. Like in the Marvel comics of the avengers and the movie thor, and there are also viking versions of him. So i think Joanne Harris (the author) just made her own version from the information in the original myths and tales.
