Ahhh, sorry I’m not quite sure how to describe it (plus I know nothing of anatomy so it might not be plausible). If I decide to design one I’ll just make it have normal ears :3

They Are a Crederia Exclusive Species?

hi! Just a smol question
do the horns' shapes depends on the rune~? For eg: heart runes have flower buds and spires horns.👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PhloxeButt In reply to Tantokami [2017-03-27 09:15:57 +0000 UTC]
the runes on the foreheads were just for show, any poffee with any rune can have any of these horn types :3

Hiya! So i want to keep track of these designs and offered them as a conditional "free" species for Crederia only to make it easier on the mods and myself. I'll have to say no to making them as personal characters.

So would it be possible to use this design (after being approved) interacting with non crederia species? Such as my oc's petting or interacting with the poffee.

PhloxeButt In reply to FrostedWatercolor [2017-02-20 19:06:36 +0000 UTC]
Hello! After approval you can draw your poffee in personal works with any of your other ocs. If you're drawing prompts within Crederia as part of your required one per month then i ask you to not include non-crederia species. Crederia has its own canon and i'd like it to be followed (unless it is a human with no special abilities/mutations/etc. Regular human beings are ok!)

Hello! Do we fill in the form sheet before or after we make and post a design?
I was just wondering what order everything in the creation process goes heh

PhloxeButt In reply to CherryTrabbit [2017-01-04 07:12:34 +0000 UTC]
So first you would read through the rules and after accepting the terms design a concept for your poffee! You would then note with the filled out form acknowledging the rules and regulations and wait for a mod to approve the design.
After approval you'll be given the registry form where you'll place your poffee and submit it to the poffee folder located in Crederia .
Please do not post any poffee designs if they have not been approved! You are allowed a maximum of two at a time! Hope this helps!

These are so cute Jawn!!
I have some questions!! Most of these questions are ones that I'm not particularly interested in (like I don't think I would want to trade my poffee in general, for example) but I thought I'd go ahead and ask them so their answers be considered, in case situations where this information would be useful arises in the future.
- Are you able to participate in Crederia by exclusively using a poffee, or do you need to use another crederia species to unlock membership in the group beforehand?
- Are you only allowed to use your poffee in the ARPG? For example, would an owner be allowed to use the design/character in an AU? If so, are you able to use the poffee in an AU while it is considered inactive in the group, or no?
- Can a poffee be designed based of an existing character that the person owns (for example, if I wanted to make a poffee based on a fumi I own) in the condition that the designs are considered the same; or as long as the previous design is scrapped in favor of the poffee only design; or not allowed at all?
- If a poffee design is deleted/placed in the 'null poffee folder' can the previous owner of that poffee transfer the design to a different character/species? (for example if the colors/markings were used on a dog character instead)
- Once you earn full ownership of a poffee, will it still be revoked and ownership progress reset if you aren't active with it once a month? Or does it become a normal character that you can take extended breaks with once you earn full ownership? Or is the sole purpose of full ownership to simply unlock the ability to trade/gift the poffee? (full transparency this question applies directly to me, I'm not sure if I can keep drawing a character once a month indefinitely and make/wait for new forms to be approved every time I fall out of activity XwX so whether I participate with a poffee or not hinges on this info)
- I imagine that even when you unlock the ability to trade or gift your poffee, it can still only be done with other Crederia members since this is a crederia exclusive species, correct?
- Does the 'only 2 poffee at a time' rule also apply to poffees who you've earned full ownership over? Also if a poffee becomes inactive, does it still take up one of your poffee slots, or do you have to fully relinquish it in order to open up that slot it's taken up?

oh!!! these are all good and important questions to have! ok i'm sorry for the length of this i hope i get all of your questions down!
1:: You can participate using only poffees! Poffees will be limited for a few events and i'll have to detail those later when the features are accessible in the group itself but for the most part you can enjoy the majority of Crederia with Poffees alone!
2:: If you're active you can use your character in aus and stuff! I do ask if you're inactive that you keep au stuff private, because by being inactive you have to start the process all over again. (but you are still allowed!)
3:: If you design a poffee based on a character then thats your choice! I do allow it and if you end up making the design null then you still have full ownership of your original design. I don't allow shape-shifting so the design would be considered an AU of your original design and essentially they'd be the same character. (you'd be free to scrap the original and make the poffee the official or keep both as au versions of each other. And if you did end up trading the poffee itself i'd hope the original design is scrapped so the poffee could stand alone (or the other way around with the poffee being scrapped and the hypothetical fumi being traded! if that makes sense?))
4:: Yes! the null poffee folder is for archival purposes only and will be for me to record just how many were designed. If you actively want to take your design and transfer it you are completely free to do so! Its your design and you have full ownership of it.
5:: Once you earn full ownership of a poffee it becomes your character the same way a bab or kanti would be. You gain the ability to trade or gift your poffee and the character can no longer be revoked or removed from crederia if you'd still like to participate with it. Participation within the group is now optional and you're free to be inactive and use your Poffee in personal stories and aus!
6:: If you unlock the ability to trade/gift your poffee you may trade it to whoever wants to trade for it! I didn't intend for the full ownership poffees to only be traded to other crederia members! The wording isn't perfect but i only intended the 'openness' of the species to be crederia exclusive.
7:: You may design two temporary poffees at a time! If you make one official you can make another, and that can continue indefinitely. If you have 5 official poffees and no temporary ones you can design another 2 to start the cycle over again! The 2 at a time rule was made with the mandatory participation in mind, i know i would get excited and make like 5 and not be able to keep up so i'm keeping it at a safe 2 for members! (2 at a time also makes it simpler for me to organize *U*7)
if i've missed anything or actively missed the point of the question i'm sorry! if you have ay more questions feel free to ask *U*7

Thank you so much for the quick and detailed response Velu!! ((I'M SILLY I forgot to call u that the first time OTL I know it's either or but I wanna commit to your new name >:0 ))
You cleared up everything I was wondering about very clearly, I have no further questions! Since full ownership works the way it does, this definitely seems like something I'd be interested in participating in, I'm really excited! I'm a fan of how you've set things up, the way you mentioned how it's like an extended DTA in another comment describes it pretty well! It really does seem like a good in-between of a semi-open species that isn't as hard on you to keep records of like a fully open species would, while also having full ownership work in a way that doesn't punish participants too badly but still takes an appropriate amount of effort to earn! Wonderful job on this all!

Hello! Poffees have existed for several years in their full incarnation: Background Species Concepts here is an older sheet for them where they look just about the same as they do now sans the legs. I did intend to give them a more "kemono" feel (with the stubbier legs) Poffees did have shapes on their foreheads back then as well Poffees just as they do now! i've just added hearts and clovers to the mix.
Thats funny that this species also has the star foreheads, although i doubt its a concept thats completely original. I would say my want to give them stubbier legs brings them into the more general body types for kemonos so i wouldn't be surprised that more species have that appearance in japanese media. Although for this species the puff tail, ears, and forehead runes have already existed for many years.

The game is from 2012, and homunculi pictures were released very widely across the internet for two years before that as part of the 'upcoming series,' which predate your concepts by 2-4 years; yours also have exactly the same roles that they do in the game, treasure finders and mercenaries, etc. The legs don't really look any different to me. It's an interesting coincidence, but you should be aware that everything about these is extremely similar to intellectual properties that are copyrighted across the world.
Ear puffs and stars don't really make a new species, I could take your mantibabs and put ear puffs and stars on them, but that wouldn't make them 'mine', y'know?

PhloxeButt In reply to MerrySacrament [2016-12-26 21:08:48 +0000 UTC]
I've never played the game so i wasn't aware of the roles being similar, i tossed very vague and general rpg game themes onto the roles for these guys as i've seen done through the handful of rpgs i have played. (looking them up doesn't give me information other than them working in a bureau? and get paid in candy)
This was meant to be a generic and easy to draw species derived from a few basic stylistic choices using the original poffees as a starting point, this is why poffees are a free species and are available without using any currency at all, real or fake. I appreciate your concern and if seems to genuinely bother too many people i'd be willing to make changes to them, but as it is they are a free species meant to allow participartion to those who couldn't otherwise.
In the future if you have any concerns like this i'd love if you could note me with these issues instead of just commenting on the species sheet, thank you!

i'm sorry you feel that way! I had to think long and hard about how i would distribute this species. There was the worry of people being able to openly make them and then just wanting to trade them willy nilly because its so easy to get one anyways! Making them fully open would also cause organization problems(especially with my memory, it would be hard to know exactly who has made one, how many, how often, etc even with extensive lists).
The process right now gives me the power to know exactly who is making one, how long they've had it, and doesn't let them trade it until they've earned the ability to. The monthly requirement i view like a long DTA. if you don't meet the deadline of a DTA you don't get the design. (except in this case the design will stay yours and can't be sold or traded by me) If you miss the deadline then you'll have to enter the process all over again just like any DTA. The biggest difference between Poffees and any general DTA is that you're not losing anything if you fail to participate (except your time), you're able to pick up your poffee and try again anytime you need to. The need to work for your poffee also gives me the knowledge that you're working for the design and really want it if you're taking the time to participate for it!
i'm sorry if this seems punishing, its honestly meant to be easier on me and my mods so we can easily keep track of who makes, owns, or is earning their poffees!

I understand. It's just very discouraging is all... I like ARPGs, but not when I feel like I will lose my progress if I skip a prompt or two. And especially not if I have to DTA something I've already designed myself.
Good luck with the species.

I have felt similarly before, but being as this species exists only to promote and allow participation in Crederia, I don't find it particularly discouraging to require participation in crederia? At least up to a certain point :'3 and once the poffee is owned, the monthly requirement is no longer a thing. Most of the crederia species cost money to own, after all- this feels more like a fair trade off? But of course, not everyone is gonna be happy all the time;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PhloxeButt In reply to Fenwhey [2016-12-26 19:44:02 +0000 UTC]
their designs can be natural as long as they do not fall into the "greyscale" category! so while a grey wolf or black husky wouldn't be allowed you can do something like: s.womenweb.de/PageResources/cb… but not something like this: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/7…
same with horses! you can't do black stallions or your typical irish cobs but others like palominos or pintos are fine (and most any horse with actual color haha)! As long as there is color and the whole design doesn't fall into almost all black/white/grey :3
You're free to give examples of the types of dogs or horses you're interested in referencing and i can let you know if its ok!

They look so cute and the runes/guilds are a really nice and unique touch <3
May I just say, I absolutely LOVE the idea of creating an open species whilst still keeping it exclusive enough to allow you some control over the integrity of the world/community!! It's so heartbreaking to see people buying designs, only to instantly trade/sell them away like they mean nothing. At least this way it will ensure that people who create their own designs will be serious about keeping them while acting as an active part of the community :3
Hopefully if my health picks up next year, I'll be able to join and put my own effort into earning one of these babies :3
Good luck with your gorgeous new species, I hope you have fun with them ^u^

Thats still being worked out, i'd like to make it either based on how many times you've participated with your poffee or set a special Poffee only event after you've done, lets say about 6-8 prompts where the prize would be full ownership! Either way it will be determined by your participation itself, which is why it will be a monthly requirement!
