Honestly! I'm actually super ok with a lot of the current converted pets in terms of how they're drawn/how they can look with customization but it sucks that people got their pets forcibly converted/lost their accounts with unconverted pets/etc! The unconverted pets are definitely way better though :'3 Theres a handful of unconverteds i would die to get haha

Yeah, I think that was the worst part, some pets were just auto converted or just went extinct entirely. That led to a lot of people leaving the site, and now it's almost completely barren.

I had been thinking of getting back into neopets, what's this unconverted/converted thing? 
I've browsed some images with a google search of "unconverted neopets" but they just look like the neopets I know? 
Kinda scared to log into account in case pets are gone would rather just leave it as fond memories if that's gonna be the case c':

Back in 2005, the original creators of Neopets sold the website to Viacom, and with it, hired new artists and made the pets "customize-able". A lot of the new artwork was static and boring, and the Neopets were confined to one pose. So the old pets that were not converted to the new art style were called "Unconverted", while the new pets with the new artwork became "converted". Hope that explained things!

Gosh i've reallly fallen behind with posting personal art its usually all sketches and i never know how to piece them together to upload haha ;; I guess i'll have to try it more sometime because theres some fun stuff i'd want to share eventually! 

But thank you sooo so much! the shading on this ixi was the most fun i've had in a while (honestly it was one of the last nice things i could draw before my tablet started to give out,,)

I've drawn a few of my own pets and then a few of my dream pets ;; I really love pet sites and i got dragged into neopets a while back so i went on a neopet binge of sorts haha! I might post the sketches i've done of other pets sometime <:3 

But thank you so much! I fell in love with the unconverted faerie ixi and tbh its the only ixi i would ever consider owning! I actually don't mind names with my pets since i'd give them nicknames anyways i just want the pet itself ;; (but it would have to be adoption only since i don't have anything to trade,,)

But oh my goodness UC darigan KYRII!!!!! thats one of my top 4 dream pets i can't believe it ;; blessed pet tbh

THEYRE SO GOOD! Best species honestly imo. My Kyrii (www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtm… ) ended up as my fursona b/c I put so much effort into her app when I first adopted her. The problem is they come up for adoption once in a blue moon and there's only a handful of them out there right now even up for trade. I really hope you can get one tho! It's a tiny fanclub out there for them. 

I also am fond of only the stealthy and UC faerie ixis, most of them arn't really my style. I like Kikos and Skeiths mostly. 

If I can ask, what's your un on neo! I'd love to see your pets!

In 2007 Neopets revamped their site along with the artwork on it. People were asked if they wanted their Neopets to have the new art base instead of the old, and most said yes but the people who didn't eventually had their Neopets get called UC/Unconverted. They're basically just really old and valuable Neopets!

Np! And from what I know it still is, but not as active as it used to be ofc!
People will buy UC pets for upwards of $300 though so at least some of the community is still bumpin' LOL

Its,,,, wild,, (i'm actually super new to neopets and know about conversion and stuff because of burr) 

Being super new i'm not super bitter about conversion because i wasn't there and didn't lose anything i guess,, (although i find it completely unfair that a ton don't exist as unconverteds) I don't mind converted pets bc i get to customize and like to enjoy pet sites as they are but conversion sounded like a wild ride. I know i'm looking for like, 3 unconverted dream pets that i will never get ;;

I have a soft spot for them because the A R T was so PRECIOUS AAAAAAA

And also yeah because I was on this site when I was like six. Or eight or so. So....... they are my childhood. TwT And I was way, way too young to ever afford gorgeous pets.. but I still love them dearly.

there's totally been folks who get frozen "for their protection" and got their accounts back like six months later SO I mean, just, don't lose hope!!! be persistent and kick their asses n they'll shape up eventually >:T best of luck getting your stuff back!!
