I'm glad to see quite a lot of other people seem to be upset by this too. I tend to spend hours adding a whole load of details to my pictures, aaaaand you can't make them out, without downloading them. And you're right, people don't bother with that.

Oh. That explains a lot. Here's my "educated" response to this:
...WAS!!!!?? Sind sie blΓΆd!? Do they really think that removing that options would make us happier? Because I'm sure as hell that I'm just plain pissed now!! If they start making even more idiotic changes like this, they're going to become just as bad as Quizilla!
(Sorry. I just like to yell in German from time to time.)
Before I forget, don't worry. From what I keep hearing from the German & Pakistanian exchange students in my school, English is a hard language to learn. With all the simmilar-sounding words and all the complex grammar rules that we apparently have, I don't blame you.
But if my Babushka can learn English (and a bunch of other languages), you can too!!
(On a side note, I wish she and my mom had taught me Russian. The only word I can even recoginize in the language is Π²ΠΎΠ΄ΠΊΠ°.)

it doesn't affect me personally, but i could see how it would be irksome if i ever submitted art where it would matter. as far as looking at people's art, it's obnoxious (imo) to have to click the download thing and take an (to me) unnecessary step :/...but that's my opinion.

This new "feature" doesn't do anything to alleviate my suspicion that dA is actually run by a group of 11-year-olds. :\ For fuck's sake, look at Pixiv! Do they feel the need to pull off stupid crap like this? No. They implement new features that are actually useful to people both uploading and browsing art there (the manga page viewer for comic artists, for example).

I download for full size all the time! :'D I've never had a problem with it, though I can see why some people would. Wasn't there once an option to select if your image was resized or not? They really need to bring that back.
