Thanks. Honestly, I got pretty lucky with this shot. It was taken at the zoo, and the snow leopard was just pacing back and forth in front of the glass. I waited a while and snapped a few shots when he stood still.
I find that the key to taking good photos of animals is patience. Sometimes you just gotta wait around for them to get comfortable. Choose a place that has good natural lighting; most animals don't like flash. I also take a lot of photos, not all of them are great, but if you take a lot of photos, you're bound to get some good clean photos.
Also, most of the photos I've uploaded on to deviantArt have been edited on Photoshop CS5. I use it clean up the photos a bit (fix dull colours, sharpen slightly blurry photos, cropping). A lot of what I learned about editing, I learned off tutorials from deviantArt.
