Description And, darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me—I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

Makes me think of makorra every single time without fail. ;~;

I think there is les Makorra fan art and fanficiton is for 2 reasons.

the amount do hatred that we have received since the finale has caused many if not most Makorra shippers to quit the show and leave the fandom.

The finale was devastations for most Makorra shippers Bryke went with the political statement instead the more natural pairing. We know who Korra's true love and soul mate is and it isn't Asami

I completely agree with you. After being badgered and called homophobic by korrasami shippers for months on end for simply not liking Korra and Asami as a couple or not interpreting any romantic subtext between them, to have korrasami be 'endgame' and then have to deal with Bryan's continual dismissive (and confrontational) attitude, it's a wonder there are any makorra shippers left tbh.
It's just...such a shame that if they supposedly intended korrasami to get together all along, they never gave their relationship any substance.
Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious given the text that Mako and Korra are soulmates in the truest sense of the word.

Aw. What a really cute Makorra fan art The Makorra fandom seems mostly dying now. People don't make art as much and fanfics as much as they used to. I'm really sad

Thanks! It is sad about the makorra fandom, though. :/ Makes me miss the glory days of 2012! But, makorra will live on as long as there are people out there who ship it.

I truly hope you do. I'm so sorry this situation has caused such division and bad blood between fans of the show. I truly had hope for them and it's so hard to accept when just about a year or so ago, it was on record that the creators said that they "were meant to be", and now they completely changed it. But oh well. It's still so awesome to see that the Korra and Mako support and fandom is still so huge and strong, and actually growing. The Korra and Avatar fandom is slowly dying away, but it's a comfort that people still support Mako and Korra as a couple, as it should have been. Thank for for this and I hope you make lots and lots more.

Man, I can't tell you how many times I clung onto "Those kids were meant for each other!" like a lifeline after they broke makorra up. It's...odd that they would change their minds about makorra, and then put so little effort into making it more obvious that korrasami was the intended 'endgame.' :/ I feel like that issue has been beaten to death at this point though, and all we have to do now is continue supporting Mako and Korra's beautiful relationship.

Yes, I agree. Well, I don't know if it's "endgame", since I believe it's stated they are both bisexual, so anything can happen. But let's face it, the viewership and fans started going downhill after Book II, and from what I understand, it was on the verge of being cancelled when it was put online to be streamed. It was on life support. Many people are speculating that this was done for the talk, the popularity of the show because of the poor handling of the script and Mako and Korra relationship. Like I said before to others, even though at first the media and even the Nick website tried to push this and praise it, and some magazines wrote about it at first....along with the screams of the "Korrasami" fans,  the fandom is quickly dying, the flame is going out except for the rabid, hardcore "Korrasami" shipper blind followers. People are starting to care less and less, especially after reading the creators' explanations (excuses) on their sites. It's like people are opening their eyes and reading between the lines to see the true motive behind the finale. It's also noted that even though there was support, Mike and Bryan lost quite a bit of fans and followers. People are getting sick of the rabid "Korrasami" fans and this situation and getting sick of their fan art. It breaks my heart to see that if you are Mako and Korra fan, you're automatically "homophobic". Seriously? Anyway, stay strong, and please do much, much more of lovely pics like this. You know I support you.

I think the survivability of the korrasami ship has less to do with the fact that they're both bi, and more to do with their interactions in canon. I just don't see them lasting together for very long. And with the absence of post-canon comics, I, and all us other makorra shippers, are free to headcanon anything we like!
I don't think the show was ever on the verge of being cancelled, but that Nick pulled it off air due to poor viewership (of course, with so little advertising and promoting, what were they expecting, anyway?).
Don't even get me started on the "homophobe" accusations. Way to ignore the existence of queer makorras. This text post comes to mind.  steinbecks.tumblr.com/post/113…
And, thanks for the support! I really appreciate it!

I do agree with you, it might be the interaction. But many, many people really saw it as a close friendship, and sisterhood, and the ending was such a big slap in the face for so many fans. I understand that the creators can only do so much to push the relationship on a cartoon show, but still...it was too much for many. Yeah, it did have poor viewership, and the fans are blaming it on the creators for handling the script and plots so poorly and purposefully sabotaging Mako and Korra's relationship. I'm guessing many viewers were just confused and gave up on the show.   But anyway, like I said to many others before, I'm not here to argue about who Korra should have "ended up with". I would have been happy if there was NO ship and she entered the Spirit World alone and Mako and Asami moved on. What hurts me the most the the division, and rift it caused between fans that really idolized the show in the beginning, wanted to love the show for the excitement, the adventure, and friendship between the characters, not some cheap "politically correct" statement. This was handled so poorly and many are feeling disrespected by the creators based on their statements and how rude they were to Makorra supporters. Now fans are scared to support Mako and Korra because they'll be called "homophobes", and SOME "Korrasami" fans are laughing and gloating. That's not what a show should be about. . Alright, enough. The pic is amazing and I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

I'm glad to see there's still some Makorra love. Less glad because there's no more Masami love.

It's a bit hard to find makorra shippers these days, but we're still out there!
Ah, masami was cute while it lasted in book 1. But you're right, it'd probably be really hard to find new art for them now.

I try not to ship. Mostly ends in disappointment. Still, it's nice to think about characters in a relationship.
