This painting makes me feel rather anxious, for some reason. It's really pretty, though.

A friend of mine made a painting like this once... it was about 6'6" tall and 1'6" wide. It was the craziest thing the school had seen. And so many people liked it! There were a million re-creations of it.
Much love for this piece as well. I love color. ^-^ <3

Did you know the story you posted has also been published (and much maligned) under the name "Little Black Sambo"? I don't know if you intended it, but there's another layer of meaning that can be inferred with the addition of that information.
I really like your description of the tiger's stripes melting together (apart?) in response to another poster here. It gives a little more insight into what's going on during your process.

I did know the history, which was a bit upsetting. I am glad it was updated by the publisher

The history is not only upsetting, but a little bit weird in that looking at how people react to "issues" is so bass ackwards. It's a cute story that has nothing to do with "color" and actually has something of a good moral concerning vanity. I think your painting does it justice.

Thank you so much. It is actually on display at the Nyack, Palisades Center location of Cafe Tu Tu Tango.

Hmm... different than your usual style. I like it better, really. I think bright colors are much more interesting to look at (not that your other paintings were ugly, they just had a much more somber and dulled sense to them, which has equal artistic value). I also think the blending job on this one is your best so far. Definitely my favorite.
Congrats on the big canvas!
