Pyro is summoned to leave a scorch mark trail to make navigating the maze easier. As for Lauren, well, Pisces probably wanted to get this round done as quick as possible to prevent harm to his trainer Lauren, so he wanted to get Lios' key. Now, to stop the Absol, Lios called for a Stone Edge from Avis, which kinda makes stone pillars rise from the floor of the dome and breaks some mirrors in the process...
Originally Lauren was supposed propose a battle to Lios for the key, but then it doesn't quite fit in her personality so... yeah.
