Description Main temple at Chichen Itza. Translated, that roughly means 'The Mouth of the Well of the Water Sorcerer'. This goes in conjunction with my previous deviation of the cenote.

The Aztecs got their water supply from this cenote, as it was the only freshwater available to them- the Yucatan Peninsula is very dry, and spotted with these cenotes.

They held this place to be sacred, and even held sacrifices there.
