Wow...that's actually terrific...I also hate flies about ten times more now (I hate the summer bugs that come out and mate and then lay eggs and hatch more annoying bugs that exist to annoy me...sometimes

Also I understand how you feel. Just because something looked cool and you snapped a picture of it does not make it artistic. Especially when there's a horrible flash that just washes everything out.

I like that photography has also been getting better camera wise, because that means us photographers can use out skill and some of the amazing camera's skills to take better photo's, but I hate that just ANYONE can do it now. With what camera's we have. Not everyone used to even want to since developing film was a pain. I actually too a film class though, and it was ons of fun, but also smelly

I'm just glad that somebody finally feels some what the same about this. It makes me mad how everyone is an artist these days.

THANK YOU! i also hate flies but they do look pretty cool up close. and omg i hate that when people use flash all the time.

I dont mind when people take pictures i just hate it when they're like im a photographer. Another thing i hate is when people have a nice camera, take okay pics then edit them and they look really good then everyone loves them. When there are people who took great pictures and didnt edit them except cropping (like this one). I try not to edit my pictures too much.

Yea i want to take a film class in highschool this fall ill be a freshman but i dont think my school has it

Oh I strongly recommend a film class! It's great fun If your school doesn't offer it there maybe a good chance that a community center or something like that might offer such a class. It's so much fun. If you make a mistake though, like if you have a great picture that either needs a little bit more contrast because it's too grey, or cropping it so you get only what's important in the picture, you don't have an undo button. Plus the chemicals have a stronger scent and they induced my migraines so I had to get a headache medication...but otherwise it was great fun! You really should
Also if considering a career in photography I would suggest looking at schools so you have an idea ahead of time what's offered in your region because I found out last minute that there are only three photography schools in my state...bleh.
Also, I was wondering if you would do more portrait work as well? You seem like you'd be good at it, and I'd like to see more from you
I don't think I follow many portrait photographers on here...if any which is bizarre because that's what I'm starting to get into lol.

Yea I really want to take a film class but I dont know when i will or can.. Im only 14 right now but yea I know i should do that im not sure if I want to go out of state or not. Im thinking about going to an art institute but im not quite sure. And Im almost positive im going to pursue a career as a photographer. Im really excited!!!

Im not sure what I will do as a photographer right now im helping my aunt with her photography business, kindof like a summer job. Heres our website: [link]

Some are hers and some are mine.
I think i have a few portraits there all spontaneous though.
Also you can look at my threesixtyfive project on fb: [link] !/album.php?aid=19042&id=100000102192817

I couldn't see the second page...
That's actually really great that you are working with your aunt. It's really great to have connections because that makes life a TON easier.
I don't know how much of film photography you could learn on your own. I think it's really straight forward, but then there's a darkroom issue...and where even to get a film camera if you don't have one already...I don't know if many camera stores sell film cameras anymore (even though the sell film...)

O and thanks for the fav

Oh good This way you wont have to rent a schools. School ones can be kind of flaky. Even in college when kids are a bit more careful with other peoples things. A lot of people had to constantly come in for the teacher to fix something that wasnt working...

So is you're entire family into photography or just a few of you? Just curious I have an aunt who used to work for...I think lifetouch...but has since quit working there. I think she works with my uncle at a factory, or she's working at another studio that does pictures. I'm not really sure...so she's the only one in my family who is serious about photography like me. It's really nice because we have a photographer for important events for free

My dream is to do wedding photography...but I'd always do other portraits on the side (i.e. children/family portraits and senior portraits
I don't know that I'd ever want to work with a studio though...I'd rather be on my own unless it was with family or friend...but otherwise not so much :-/

Yea i wouldnt want to borrow the schools, just because id be too afraid of breaking it or something.

My aunt on my dads side is and then my moms cousin is related to Jeff Woods, hes a photographer with his wife (Jeff and Julia Woods). I think its photography by lee or portraitlife one of those. My aunt is just starting off but my moms cousin has been doing photography for years. lol yea it is nice to have that my other aunt loves it because i use her baby for photography practice so she has alot of really good pictures instead of just hers and they're all free. Shes in my gallery alot..

Im not sure if im going to do weddings yet, they're allloooottttt of pressure. I know because i've done one with my aunt (our first one)
I think im pretty advanced for just being 14. Im not a professional or anything.. yet! How old are you?
I think i might want a studio, so then i could keep doing family portraits and senior portraits during the winter, without
having to freeze my butt off lol.

Im not sure what my dream is yet, i just know its photography

I didn't like using the schools so much either...because since they have been used...well...enough said...they break. Not only that but I was afraid of breaking it too

Oh that's really interesting you have a few photographers in the family My boyfriends cousin and his uncle (which is her dad ) like photography too Most of the people that I'm connected to who like photography are my friends though. I actually wouldn't have gotten into photography if it wasn't for my sorta-kinda best friend (I'm going through some slight drama at the moment) so I owe her big thanks for that

My boyfriends mom is also enjoying my addiction to photography She loves it that I take pictures of her youngest two (ages 11 and 8 I believe) because the nearest, cheapest photography studio closed and she hasn't been able to get professional portraits...and while I'm not a professional, she believes I'm better than taking a disposable camera and following the kids around I might have to agree

You have a point about the studio...I think my main thing is I don't want to work for anyone other than myself...or with friends or family. I would never really want to work at like proex or something. I got my senior portraits done there and while they were great pictures...all the poses are the same...I realized...I'm really big on creativity I guess...so I mean being able to work with different backgrounds and places and objects would be nice...but maybe I'd have my basement as a studio or a friend and I would rent a space and make one

You'll find your dream eventually I didn't know until about...hmmm...April...what I really wanted to focus on. I was at my boyfriends aunts wedding and I kept seeing these shots in my head...and then I kept day dreaming from there...I may change my mind later though, you never know

Oh and I'm 19 And into a bit of camera love I'm going to proclaim my love for my Canon Rebel T2i I don't know why but I'm just have been extra happy with it lately What kind of camera do you have?

Yea I dont really want to work with family/friends but its my only choice since i cant drive around or anything. But im hoping maybe I could intern kinda with my moms cousin they have like amazing pictures (not trying to brag lol) I don't really know where i got my love of photography from it started when i was 3 or 4 taking random pictures with disposible cameras Yea I know a few people interested but not really ambition to actually become a photographer.

We sound really alike haha. I hate places like sears and walmart where every single pose is the same, same backgrounds, same pose, and just terrible pictures. I'd hate to work there.. I'm like one of the most creative people in my (close) family I make jewlery, do photography, make different things, and really creative one way or another lol.

Yea my minds pretty set, but that could change but i always see myself as a photographer so i dont know yet.

Haha nice! I have a Canon Rebel Xsi that i got for christmas. But dont get me wrong i've worked my way up to it! not like the people who just go up to their parents and say hey i want a really nice camera! then they get it... i love mine lol its like my child

Oh so I'm not the only one who would probably break down into a million billion pieces if anything happened to my camera I think I seriously would though...photography has been so relaxing for me...it's one of my only stress reliefs at the moment..things have been pretty high stress in my life lately so it's nice to have something I can completely lose myself and throw myself into.

I took lots of pictures when I was young too I mostly cut off everyones heads though I was looking at pictures from when I was younger for a scrapbook I'm doing...and it's so obvious which ones are my work...diagonal pictures that barely resemble headless people

I'm pretty creative compared to the rest of my family too I think...my Aunt is ito scrapbooking I think...that's about it Other than my other Aunt being a photographer My friends are a lot more creative than I am though

haha yea actually same here photographys just that release thing that makes you feel better you know? haha I would too!

I think im probably the most creative out of my friends, not trying to brag or anything. They arent really creative lol

Scrapbookings okay it gets really expensive so i dont really like doing it but im more into jewlery and photography.

It's not bragging if it's factual I think that my high school (specifically my class) just happened to have a lot of creative people in it. Or it could have been just me. I play violin so I hung out with people from orchestra a lot. Then I joined pit orchestra for theatre and hung out with even more people from there. A lot of these people not only did orchestra or theatre, but they also took up drawing, or an instrument, or something I guess I feel blessed about attending having been able to go there because my old hometown didn't have that many options..

I suppose that makes sense. I don't scrapbook much I guess...I'm currently working on one, but it's more of one I add on too rather than make new ones. It's just stuff like about my life. Like I have a page for travelling and a page for orchestra/violin, stuff I can easily add too

Yea haha the highschool that im going to doesnt have a ton of options but im taking every art class possible. Thats cool i like the violin. I used to play percussion but i didnt like the people in percussion or our band teacher so i quit. Kinda stupid but oh well.

I have to be in the mood to scrapbook other wise it doesnt look too good

midnightviolin In reply to photographer22 [2010-08-10 21:56:33 +0000 UTC]

Lol good for you! One of my regrets about high school was that I didn't take many art classes...we had a photo/video class but it was always full, so I never got in, just stuff like that, but I did take an acting class and it was a TON of fun, and I had time to work in theatre a little bit so that was fun^^
I guess I don't know much about percussion but it looked like that was a ton of fun in high school when they started playing more complicated pieces...I really though percussion was cool

photographer22 In reply to midnightviolin [2010-08-11 23:16:36 +0000 UTC]

haha yea i liked percussion just didnt like the people or how they played. haha

haha im kindof a shy person so i wouldnt be a good actress haha. Or good in that kind of class. But my highschool is getting rebuilt so we'll have more room for more classes soo hopefully more art classes.

midnightviolin In reply to photographer22 [2010-08-12 03:39:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh that would be fun Like I said I feel my school was pretty nice art wise. At least compared to what I would have experienced if I hadn't moved maybe. I would have had options, but it was a small town, so not many.
I was pretty shy too, that's actually why I took an acting class. I don't know how acting classes are in other high school's but ours was so...goofy. It was all improv work and by making up our own skits we came up with silly ideas and just trying to totally sell it. It was just so fun, and you're acting goofy in front of the whole class and it was just a riot. It helped me break out of my shell a little
So I don't know, if you hear good things about the class maybe you could try it out...except I don't want to push it if you would have an absolute miserable time...
I don't know...just something to at least think about
The important thing about high school is to try new things. I think that even if you're involved in everything at school you'll look back and say "I wish I had done this instead of this" but hopefully you can tack on "but I don't regret a thing. I had a blast" So just make sure you have fun
