Description

listed The primary objective of the monument protection is to preserve buildings worth protecting at the original location. An architectural monument always works in the context of the environment in which it was built. Therefore, a transfer of architectural monuments in Germany is prohibited in principle. In exceptional cases, however, a demolition is unavoidable and allowed by the monument protection. This is the case according to the Hessian Monument Protection Law if the obligation to obtain the object is unreasonable (eg for cost reasons) or not possible (eg in the construction of bypass roads). A large number of houses, which were not available at their location, were disassembled into their parts, stored in the Hessenpark and thus secured. A rebuilding of the houses in the Hessenpark takes place train by train, thus the Hessenpark can make also new offers to multiple visitors annually.
