received a nikon d40 for christmas . . . this is shot 33 . . . still adjusting to the differences between this camera and my e300 . . . hoping to get a long lens for this one in the near futurea big "thank you" for adding my photos to your favorites or collections . . . i will reply to comments, but i am no longer able to acknowledge every

Beautiful details and pose. I think the D40 is working great for you. With ISO800 the noise is visible only in dark spots but the rest is sharp and clean. I like this shot. Your Border collie is a great model.

thanks . . . i like the d40 quite a bit - very light and fast . . . suki was sitting on the couch looking out the window, so i was shooting with just available light . . . she is my most willing model

ours is part border collie, and we think maybe part husky . . . we got her at the animal shelter when she was a puppy . . . we used to have two border collie sisters and they were wonderful . . . i love the b.collies very much

I love my Nikon D50... actually got it just before they annouced the D40, and while the D40 is great I like the slightly larger body of my D50. Hope you have loads of fun with it. Lucky guy.... someone loves you.

i wanted/needed a second digital and i really liked my nikon 35mm, and the d40 seems to be working out, so yay! . . . nice surprise from my wife! . . . and thank you, i think suki actually enjoys "modeling" sometimes

Aww, nice shot! Is Suki a Border collie? We had a Golden Retriever/ Border Collie. She died this past summer. They are very smart dogs!

thank you kelly! . . . i usually tell people she's a purebred black and white . . . we got her at the local animal shelter . . . probably a good bit of border collie with maybe some husky . . . we had two border collie sisters years ago, and our last dog was an australian shepherd mix . . . they have all seemed smarter than every other dog we meet
