It's a water lily at my former accountants. He was also a customer. The leaf is to the right. Where I am working now there is a large pond that is just filling with opening lilies. It will be a great photo op in another week or two.

Me too. I think the ones at work are going to be yellow.

This almost looks like a painting and not a photo; the colors & texture are wonderful.

Sweet. I always try to take pictures of flowers when I see them, but it's never even crossed my mind to attempt that particular composition. I'll have to try something like that sometime.

It tends to perk up the dullest of shots.....like mine.

Very very nice - I think you have to work much harder to get a beautiful shot like this than I have to. (location wise I mean - we have many many flowers trying to survive the heat here) You are very good at this - and I agree with Lady-Lire that toning down the yellow a bit would make it a little nicer. Great shot - very pretty.

Thanks. I might go back and tone down the stamens, see how it looks. HEAT? I just got up and you can hardly see for the rain......No work again!!!!! Grrrrr!

I have some ideas to include that furry little reprobate in a couple of shots. I need the weather, though. Hope to do it soon. I think you would like them.

When I said, nurses, what I really meant was, prison warders.

Sorry, my heart belongs to another. As does my washing and bad habits. You will just have to put up with hubby. Bet he doesn't shout at the TV and eat too fast.

True, we wouldn't want the pigeons to have nothing to poo on.

This is just lovely. The brightness of the yellow and the pink contrast very well with the dark water, and the little dewdrops keep your eyes jumping around. The composition is very nice, as well. I would maybe tone down the contrast on the stamen a bit? It's a little blinding and adds a yellowy tint to the pink.

Thanks. I think, in retrospect, you are right about the stamen. I get a bit carried away.
Thanks for the fave.

I love them, too. We don't get too many vibrant colours here in the UK. You have to jump on them while you can.
