Barrio Viejo street scene - 1951 DeSoto
The DeSoto Deluxe (also sometimes spelled DeLuxe) is an automobile produced by DeSoto from 1939 through to the 1952 model year. While in production, the Deluxe was DeSoto's entry-level car and was offered primarily as two-door and four-door sedans. The Deluxe range also included the extended-wheelbase Suburban sedan. The body was claimed to be "rust proofed".

I wish I could. That roadster is long gone. I can tell you that he modded it. The stock motor was changed out for a 427 hemi with two supercharged four barrel dual line Holly carbs on an Edelbrock high rise intake with Hooker header exhaust. It would fly like a bat out of hell. It was truly a deluxe land yacht. He could put a dollar bill on the dash. Then he would ask you to take it. Just as you stretched out that paw, he would punch the pedal. Needless to say, you could not get the buck. If you could, it was yours. Back then, a dollar was a lot of money... I never could snag that bank note...
