Most USA Renaissance Festivals have implemented a "Time Travel" themed weekend. Steampunk and Sci-Fi characterizations are immensely popular. Time Travel weekends' created much debate concerning the evolution of Renaissance Festivals becoming too Comic CON like.

Interesting. Institutions tend to evolve as new people arrive with new tastes and ideas. And debate is a good thing, I say. It keeps life fresh and ideas flowing.
