Thanks - did you watch with anaglyph glasses?

I don't have the glasses to watch it with but I still enjoyed it.

Hey, how about cross-eyed stereo? Works without glasses and there's no color "loss" because of the filtering.
But it needs to be double-wide...

I thought of that - but I think it'd be a problem for a few reasons. First, when I cross my eyes for the cross-stereo images I've run across - very quickly the muscles in my eye start to hurt - I don't think it's a good idea to do anything that hurts, especially related to my eyes, and I don't want to subject others to it. Second, the image is pretty wide and the amount of eye crossing would be a LOT, unless I made the images quite small. Third, it runs about a minute long (I have on that goes 2:40), and while that's not a feature length movie, I suspect it's longer than most folks would generally look at a still image. I think viewing it in cross-eyed stereo would be problematic and rather unpleasant.
Even with my 3D TV and using Side-by-Side mode, which is the best I have available, is a trade off as I have to loose half of the horizontal resolution. Better would be to encode everything to a BluRay which is on my list of things to try. I have the Intel encoding software - which I need to learn how to use and I'll need a BluRay burner (easily solved) and… I'll need to convert everything from 30 fps to 23.976 fps. I can do a frame interpolation either by blending frames or skipping them - both have drawbacks. On this one, if I could simply retime the animation in Poser, that could work - I may yet try it.
Thanks for checking it out, and for the comment!

I see. Very good reasoning, no one should need to hurt him/herself while experiencing art. I, for one, can do the cross-eye method for minutes without discomfort (had no readon to try any longer, so far). And the cross-eye method allows for any size of image: If the cross-viewing becomes inconvenient, just step back. (Unlike the stare-through method that cannot be used with images that are wider than one's eye-distance, stepping back doesn't work with the stare-through method.)
Thank you for the long explanation!
Many years ago I made an attempt a stereo images with POVray and the wooden box example, but the wood structure changed when the camera position was moved, so I gave up. Meanwhile I know that POVray has now a special mode for doing stereo images.

You know, just after I read your posting, I checked out the Green Lantern image on 's site and it's about the same aspect ratio and not that bad to look at. I may give it a try when I finish my current project.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah - the first one was laid out with 3D in mind - thus the various motions and such - so I can see that working better.
Speaking of glasses - my order of 4 pair just arrived yesterday. The really old pair I had - the fold completely flat kind - were letting a lot of the wrong colors through and were scratched. The newer filters are supposed to work much better - I see that the right eye is much more blue than cyan.
Been busy the last couple of days - but got a break for catching up ... gonna try out those new glasses... now!
Doggie Cinema... Brilliant! Or at least, largely monochrome. At least they wouldn't suffer from the color issues we do.
I just had a vision like the ones from the 50's but with a theatre of dogs all fitted with red/blue googles looking up at.. something fascinating...

Glad you liked it. Yeah - I think part of the problem with the other one is that due to the cramped quarters, the camera is simply too close. Large parts of the video are "out of the screen", but with this one, the only thing that comes "out" is one of the beams for just a second or so.
Thanks again!

Ha! Yeah. Things didn't go quite as planned. Might be nice to follow this up at some point, I've got a basic story outline - we'll see.
