I tried to mix modern and retro elements, since that's kind of the way the 093 alternate reality is portrayed. The latest recorded dates were in the 1950s, yet there are high-tech elements present, like modern-style computers and futuristic keyboards. For example, the slanted bars were inspired by the cover of a book I have that was published in 1953. I admit that overall it came out looking more "modern" and less "retro", though.
