Description A Roy Mustang, from Fullmetal Alchemist, toddler style doll that I have spent the last 4 days crocheting into existence. All of his outfit is removable and fully crocheted. His eyes were created by using machine embroidery on felt, cutting it out and then sticking them in place. Despite the many many hours that went into him I am SOO thrilled with how he has turned out.

I've been wanting to make a Toddler style doll for ages but hadn't found the right pattern until annie-88  not only created the perfect pattern for me but but it up for free! You can find her pattern here  (mine has very slight adjustments).

You can see how his outfit gets assembled here .

So my mom has an embroidery machine, but she has not figured out how to make her own patterns and such. Any tips for making awesome eyes like that?

You need a program to make your own patterns/designs. I use a program called Embrid but there are many programs out their that you can use some better than others (and some much cheaper than others too). When I started out making eye designs I usually imported an image and then "traced" over it in the program. Now I just wing it and try to make it match my reference image. Like with most things it is just practise and be prepared for the first few to not be perfect (mine still aren't perfect and I've ben making eyes for about 6 months now).
