The good resolutions are the following ones: 1280x1024 + 1600x1200 (for 4:3), and 2560x1600 (for widescreens).
This 2560x1600 will work on every widescreens, especially the Macs. No need for instance to make a 1680x1050 for 20' or 1440x900 for the new MacBook Pro 15'.
