When I present you with a flower,do you see that flower?
Or do you see a dagger?
When I present you with a smile,
do you see that smile?
Or do you see a spiteful grimace?
When I present you with a hug,
do you feel that hug?
Or do you feel bound and abused?
When I present you with love,
do you feel that love?
Or do you feel vulnerable?
How can you see through those
clouded eyes?
How can you feel with those
numb hands?
How can you hear me with those
bloody earmuffs?
How can you love me when you
refuse to love yourself?
