This looks really great. I really like your colouring and the shading but on this picture you can't really tell from where the light comes when you're just looking at the shadows. Because the light is coming from behind and slightly from above the parts under his arms would be a little darker in my opinion. Don't be afraid to draw darker shadows from time to time c:
And the light beams (?) should be a little bit longer I think.
Apart from that you did a really great job on this picture. His face and hair turned out really well and the folds on Caeles clothing is great too. c:

No, that means blacklist.
And by the way, you might need a few things called "manners", you know, those who actually make you consider that "fuck you" is NOT Β compliment.
Good day.

No, he is an UTAUloid (a synthetic singer created using the UTAU program), like, a free vocaloid-like voicebank.
He' s my fave male bank and I'm practicing him in my drawings ahaha!
His creator and voicer is SteelEmissary . HIS artworks are beyond gorgeous and his UTAUs are super underrated.

Oh, so it's sort of like a fan made thing? Sorry for asking all these questions, I'm not very good at understanding these things. I think I'll check it out.

He is fanmade indeed.UTAUloids are meant to be used and created by amateurs, though there exists some pro users.

Is this one an amateur? I JUST heard it and it is amazing! Why have I never heard of these amazing things before??

Pianodream In reply to EmeraldAngel2 [2013-02-10 15:43:57 +0000 UTC]

He is an amateur one. 99% of UTAUloids are made by non-pros.
And why thank you, I had to work a lot to fine-tune him to sing Latin XD

EmeraldAngel2 In reply to Pianodream [2013-02-10 15:49:56 +0000 UTC]

Wow, if an amateur sounds like this, then a professional one must sound 10x as amazing! He was singing Latin? I thought it was French.

Pianodream In reply to EmeraldAngel2 [2013-02-10 17:25:28 +0000 UTC]

No it was indeed Latin. Though you're half-right, 80% of modern French is derived from Latin. Latin is like French's mother language.

I used his triphonic (consonan-vowel-consonant) voicebank and played a lot with consonant velocity in the program to get his ending consonants right.
As for myself, I am creating a VCV-VC (vowel/consonant/vowel - ending consonants) voicebank with four different pitches (low singing, neutral, lively & high powerful) and you can have a demo of it here: [link]
His name is Caeles (latin for "heavens") and my UTAUloid's name is Ciel (french for "sky, heaven") so with his creator we kinda became friends recently, it was unexpected and I finally learned how to use Caeles correctly. The godly mixing was made by

I wish I understood this Utau thing more, 'cause what you just said went over my head. Sounds difficult and interesting though!

Pianodream In reply to EmeraldAngel2 [2013-02-10 18:06:23 +0000 UTC]

Well, to make it short:
you record a triphonic bank using a method that'll allow you to blend phonemes together like it was spoken by a real human, not artificially.
And if you record different pitches, you cna set your bank to sing different "tones", like for example softly in lower notes and powerfully in high notes.

Oh, I sort of get it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pianodream In reply to EmeraldAngel2 [2013-02-10 18:26:14 +0000 UTC]

Well Caeles is only triphonic, but Ciel will be triphonic + ending consonant phonemes like "at" "az" etc AND multipitch!

EmeraldAngel2 In reply to Pianodream [2013-02-10 18:27:54 +0000 UTC]

So he can't pronounce certain things?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pianodream In reply to EmeraldAngel2 [2013-02-10 18:34:39 +0000 UTC]

Well for exemple I had to tweak in the editor a LOT so that he would say "sancta" and not "sancuta" because since usually japanese banks pronounce always a vowel after a consonant. I t was hard to make him say "benigma" or "bonitatis" wihtout having it sounding like "beniguma" or "bonitatisu".

I meant with his pronunciation. So sorry to ask but, is it ok if I can try and recreate this drawing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pianodream In reply to EmeraldAngel2 [2013-02-10 18:59:31 +0000 UTC]

Oh that, well no actually since he's got a quite strong english accent, having him sing latin isn't too hard, his pronouncing fits.
And yes you can ;w;
The world needs more Caeles!
