Description
Atlas was a Titan banished by Zeus after the siding with the Titans when the Titans and Olympians fought for power. He was sentenced to hold up the roof of the world and keep the sky from falling and crushing everything on it, and the burden could only be removed by someone else willingly taking it from him. The weight was immense and would eventually crush any mortal man, but as an immortal titan, Atlas still holds up the weight of the sky every day.
