AU: A group of seven lab experiments escape the top secret facility in which they were created. The group called themselves the Avengers as they try to reveal to the world the horrors that their governments are conducting, as well as trying not to get captured.
Bruce is experiment number 3. The scientist who created him were working on cognitive studies, particularly looking at the percentage of the brain that we don't use and what potential it has. Bruce and Thor (number 4) are the only two subjects who were in this project that survived. The scientists made Bruce an empath (meaning he can sense other's emotions) only it went slightly wrong and he can't turn it off (meaning he senses everyone else's emotions all the time). Another side effect of the experiments is that he now has DID (dissociative identity disorder i.e. split personality), and while Bruce remains in control the majority of the time, the other identity will take over when Bruce is very emotionally stressed (this can happen when the empath thing is really getting to him). The other identity is very antisocial and can be very violent, and hates pretty much everyone and everything. This identity hasn't yet told the others what it's name is (or gender, for that matter, but they presume it's male) and so they refer to it as 'the other guy'.
Just before the group escaped, the scientists were working on Bruce with experiments to do with jellyfish. His right arm was what they were working on before he went. His arm now glows (he can dim it, but not turn it off completely, and so often wears a hoodie) and there are jellyfish tentacles on his arm, which do sting. Quite badly, too, if he really wants to hurt someone.

Here's Bruce I have to thank ~remanth particularly for this one for coming up with the idea of Bruce being a permanent empath!
