So, Nicolas, the man on the right, is an abusive stepfather to Nitro/Chris. The scene here is in a hospital in the aftermath of a six-part storyline, and when the pair see each other, there's no happiness involved. Nicolas simply scolds and ridicules him for apparently not doing enough to help people. Not tolerating this, especially since Nicolas goes too far on it by mentioning Nitro's deceased father, Pikachu comes to stand up for her little brother figure, knowing too well that he did more for others than Nicolas would ever know.
