Description An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane.

I didn't know about the thousand origamu cranes legend until a few weeks ago when my Japanese teacher told me about it. Of course I would draw a doodle about it ^^

I'm currently working on this so I can make a wish for an ill friend.

Currently at 107 cranes. Long way to go 😅

I like the theme of this artwork. I actually do a little origami myself, but I also like the way people draw it in picture form too  .

Whoa, memories!! There's actually a book I read when I was a kid called "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" about a girl who lived in the aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing and developed leukemia. (The diagram in the back of the book taught me how to make paper cranes haha). You chose a great topic for this wonderful artwork!

Uwahha!  It's amazing! I hope you pardon my randomness to point out EXO gifs but i just can't get over how many Exo fangirls there are here in DA it's like the home for my people~   But yeah, I like Tao and Chanyeol but I can't just chose one all in all I have like twelve biases! i just use sehun's  gifs because i thinkhe has the funniest reactions! and i also like to use chanyeols!

EmilyRichards In reply to Uzaji-chan [2014-11-08 02:06:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes. Just yes. EXO gifs are literally the only gifs I use, like, forrealls. I do it in hopes that I meet people like you!
I know, I was so surprised at the tons of ppl that like EXO on here (where in real life, you cant seem to find anyone who likes Kpop).
Hahaha SEHUN IS MY BAE. I saw a super attractive picture of him and BAM! Automatic bias. Then I watched EXO Showtime and couldn't keep away from his derp self.
Chanyeol is so adorbs and his smile is just, guh, fantastic, and he is funny too! I loved seeing him in Roommate!!

I am so happy to have met you! I know...It's good to know at least one person appreciates true k-pop. Here, the only k-pop artist people seem to know is PSY.

*gives super ultra fantastic bear hug of a lifetime* If you ever need to let out the feels, just talk to me. I love to fangirl.  Exactly! I only have a few friends that like K-pop but I can only talk to them through Facebook. I told my sister about my K-pop obsession but its still pretty awkward to talk to her about it because she doesn't listen to it. HOWEVER, I'm still trying to change her perception of K-pop (because yes, she only knew about PSY beforehand).

UWAHH!   I'm so glad! I'll watch you for life. It's awkward for my friend too! I showed her pictures of EXO and tried to introduce her to each member! I practically had to kidnap her so that she would listen. But yeah, when she saw the members she was like: Umm...They all look the same. And I got insulted and I was like: I don't know you anymore!
I also tried to get her to listen to it and all she said was: Do you even speak Korean and I just shook her crazily and said "THAT'S NOT THE POINT! THEY ARE CUTE! THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME!

Am I getting too crazy over this?

YAAAAS. I'll totally keep in touch with you because you are super adorable.
Hahaha i know what you mean! I always catch my sis when we are about to watch a movie or something like "Cant wait to see this movie, buuuuut before that..." -hastily pulls up a kpop music video-
OH MY GOODNESS I don't know how you could've handled that. There would've been a REAL long awkward silence with intense staring if someone told me that hahaha (btdubs those gifs are perfect for that situation lol)
HAHAHA AND THATS OK. YOU DONT NEED LANGUAGE TO FALL IN LOVE

Oh, that is so beautifull!!

I love the shadowing on the paper cranes and how happy both the crane and the girl look. And also, the flying origamis!! <3
The legend inspired me too and few years ago I DID complete the chalenge of 1 000 cranes.
I recomend making origami cranes - if not thousands, then at least few! ^^

Thank you for your hard work! <^-^>

I remember reading a book in the 4th grade about a girl in Japan dying of Leukemia, and trying to fold 1000 cranes so she may live. It was a pretty sad true story and now I wish I knew what it was called.
