The title is a silly joke with this previous work of mine, if you haven't seen it yet:
I don't usually post these step by step here to avoid spamming you guys. I'm sharing some tips, tutorials and brushes on my patreon ! Any support means a lot for me to keep creating stories!

oh, my gods! Inspiration! I was working on a story involving elements how each element is randomly paired off with another and saw this and BAM! lol, It probably won't be a water/fire combo, but it will be an ill-fitted couple that manages to work things out. So lovely.

This pair is not water and fire, but modelled after the legend of Icarus and therefore wax and the sun (or fire, to play with the candle theme).

You started showing color/lighting differentiation all the way in the beginning with you're line-art. Does that serve as a reminder for you later or show up in the final product somehow? I find it really interesting.

It's a story about a candle and a flame who fall in love. He did several versions of this work, you'll find it in his gallery.

It's the story of icarus, who built wings of wax to try to fly away from crete. (more or less). He flew too close to the sun, and the wings melted. In this case, he's dripping, rather than sweating.
