Up here in Norway the wolf is a big deal right now? The number is small and people want them gone because they kill way too much sheep and people are just afraid. We don't have any wolves anywhere near where i live though, so i don't really have any saying in this pf. I don't think there are any wolves here in Australia. We have dingoes, though

Put yourself in the shoes of the people who are loosing tons of sheep, pets or even family/friends(its rare that they take humans but it happens??). The fear and anger blocks out all the other stuff. It's just logical that this is the way they'd react :'>
But i do agree with you! I love wolves and hope they find a way around this instead of getting rid of them all.

I can understand the fear, seeing as I'm quite interested in the Deathstalker Scorpion, although I'm perfectly frightened of them because of how dangerous they are
I'd try to work out how they get in, then plan around it so we don't lose wolves entirely
