The Asiatic Lion (Panthera leo persica)This picture was taken at Parken Zoo Eskilstuna in Sweden With a Nikon D800 and a Nikon 70-200 F 2.8 Lens

I do so love shots done like this - the close up portrait.
I find it so much more personal and involving and it does
more justice to this magnificent animal.

Picture perfect potrait. He does have quite a young look. I also like how the top of his head is a lighter more golden brown while his lower mane is a dark brown colour.

yet again, you have absolutely amazed me with your brilliant photography! I find it just incredible how great of a picture you can get through glass, or from afar, or whatnot. you seem to have a real talent for it~ it's hard to come across professional quality pictures like this, where you can see every detail of the photo's focus without blurs and smudges and distracting things detracting from it's beauty, yet your work always seem to be clear and blemish-free! I really like that! you also have gotten some really amazing shots that I am sure must be a pain to get just right (such as that one with the Dholes leaping upwards, or even this one, how you got the lion's face so clearly with him looking so... I don't know a good word... majestic I suppose; though that's quite overused XD) and sorry for the long comment, this just really stole my heart when I saw it, and I have such a passion for photography, that I can't help but blabber on when I see it XD
anyway, this is a really beautiful photo, and I love it!

I love this one! The amount of texture you can see in his mane and fur is absolutely wild! The bright golden colour makes this look almost unreal, but still so beautiful. His expression looks so gentle and timid its hard to believe he's a big wild lion haha. This one has definitely made it into my top five of your work Pali! Right after Ella and your Foosa photos of course
