The Wolverine (Gulo gulo), also referred to as a gluttonThis picture was taken in a national park in the northern parts of Sweden With a Nikon D700 and a Nikon 400mm lens F2,8 and a Nikon TC-17E II teleconverter
One of the things we do to get close to the animals is to give them small amount of meat in their territory this is done by an professional game keeper in a controlled way.
Never feed wild predators.. at this time i am 40-60 meter from the Wolverine....

I used to think it was a female wolf, and always wondered why a male character was called it, lol. But yeah, they're an amazing mustelid, not enough shots of them on DA.

Here in the US Wolverines are EXTREMELY rare and hard to see. Is it the same there?

yes it is we have around 500-600 in Sweden 6-8 in the national park i was in,

I don't agree with hunting - unless it is humanely done for food consumption. Hunting for sport is so cruel and unnecessary.

Its taken in a national park in the northern parts of Sweden and the Gamekeeper of the park is my best friend and 3 times a yes they do a count of the animals and he lets me tag along with him

I didn't know there was wolverines in Sweden. Thought it was only in Northern America.
Anyway, you know how to make me feel like visiting Sweden. I wish I had the chance to be there.

o yes we have a stable population of the wolverine in Sweden... The fur is even darker i use photoshop the lighten it up a bit
