The Gray Wolf (Canis lupus)The picture was taken in a national park in the northern parts of Sweden in Winter 2011. With a Nikon D700 and a Nikon 600mm lens F4 and a Nikon TC-17E II teleconverter.

I have just seen a Tv program about wolves and they were portrayed as ruthless killers that sit in the dark woods and wait to kill and pillage farms animals and people...
Wolves are not vicious killers they really dont deserve the bad reputation....

as the title, is very describe the picture it self. the sharpness and color is very natural, makes the meaning inside the images is very solid. the blur and sharpness in this images is very balanced, makes the images somehow, very natural like we seen it with our eyes.
the nature background is very supporting the images, also the wolf's expression is very calming and show the kindness that never we seen on wolf, but we often seen it on husky. The wolf's expression is also welcoming, makes us wanna play with him within deep snow. also noted the eyes, which stare kindly to our soul and mind, very rare to see it for a pure wolf.
I think is very nice images to inspire people, that we should realize that, if we can be taught to hate, then we also can be taught for love.

I really want to bring more attention to this amazing work. It's not only because it's perfectly sharp photo of wolf - well, there's lots of photos of wolf, isn't there? - but because it's giving wise advise to everyone.
There's so much people who hate wolves as cruel killers, but as Pali says, that's not true. And her photo shows it so beautifully: how could be such creature with so beautiful smile and soft look cruel? Don't take me wrong, I don't want to meet hungry wolf in the forest. But hey, it's just a nature!

I agree. It does capture your attention but it almost captures the personality of the wolf himself through his eyes. It's almost if he's smiling at the camera and noticing that you're there, then he lets his peacefully amazing side come out...
Truly an inspirational piece while capturing the realistic nature of the wolves and how they possibly treat one another while also taking in his curiosity he gives away.
Wolves don't deserve the horrible depiction that they are given and it should be

This picture in my opinion is very nice. The eyes really capture your attention even though they are not center, which gives it a more interesting look about it. If I were you however I would have cut the wolf a little closer to the edge for a more pronounced off kilter look. Other then that I find nothing in the way of changed. the fur contrasts amazingly with the snow, and you can see almost every little flake that is embedded in this wolf's hair. I think the blurred back ground makes you focus on the wolf as a whole and not anywhere else, giving it a better impact. All in all, I really cannot wait to see more of your photography, this is truly amazing.
