Description Playa de Monsul (Cabo de Gata), Andalucia, Spain

This was a small beach surrounded by rocks. The setting sun lit the cliff perfectly and the water reflected the still blue sky creating a nice contrast.

My very first reaction is that I agree that cropping of the cliff may be unfortunate, but on the other hand, it may also be short sighted on our parts.

The contrasting colors, textures & lighting in this are absolutely magnificent. The fiery sunlit cliff contrasting with the deeply shadowed cove... the silky water against the rough rocks & the blue blue water !

An outstanding shot. Well done.

Well, it's simply not possible cropping it not and involving the foreground without making a panorama.
As I don't wanted to make a panorama but wanted to handle the limitations I got within the normal frame I chosed this view. Moreover The cliff is relatively high and would have disbalanced the whole image with to much orange cliff and rock. That would have turned the focus on the cliff and not on the foreground but the cliff actually is not spectacular element, only its colour with the function to complement the image creating contrast to the blue water.
Thanks a lot!

I love the rushing water. The lighting looks inconsistent, but it's still a nice shot.

Well, only the cliff is lightened...
I loved the contrast of the orangey cliff and the shadowed sky reflecting blue water.
Thanks.

I'm going to say....you went for the most sea sick inspiring crop. Trust me, it's working. My only question is, (wait a sec until the earth stops rolling under my feet) what is that orangey shape there in the black rocks, port side (left)?

Experiment time; I'm going to link a few gal pals to this and see what their reaction is.

Haha!
That is the reflection of the sunlit cliff in a small water gathering in the rock.

Ok, thanks

nice idea for a photo but you should have done better composure; the rock in the background would better fit in if it's not cropped out..maybe if you did a pano of two horizontal shots...?

It's done at widest lens setting with 18mm. It would not change anything using two horizontals. I would have had more empty space on the right with lots of water or at the left an uninteresting part of the cliff.
I'm not sure what you mean by cropped, it is not possible to include the rather high cliff without cutting the foreground.
Thanks though!

I mean if you have took two horizontal shots and stitched it one vertically, not horizontally...
One shot for the background rock and the other one for the first plan...I'm not sure if you're getting me?
Stitch like this:
[ ]
[ ]

not like this: [ ][ ]
