Love this image. Great Blender work & render.
Please tell me, how you make materials in Lux. Never heared about math formulas. Is this Blender specific with lux? I haven t installed lux at Blender.

Thanks
I always make materials by using Blender and Luxblend (Luxrenders addon script for Blender). Luxblend has tight integration with Blender so you can set up all materials without leaving Blender. Luxrender supports Blender's procedural textures and by combining several of them you can get just about anything. It all depends on how far you want to go.
They are very fun to work with, because the possibilities are endless. It's also a very nice challenge to limit yourself to procedural textures once in a while and I'm sure I'm going to try it again some time.
I'm sure there are other 3D packages as well that support procedural textures.

Thanks. Please don't ask me what it is, because I don't know. I started with four blobs floating around in some kind of space, and things just escalated from there. It was a lot of fun to create since you were not limited to what was real or even plausible, you just go for it. Also it is a desktop wallpaper, so the space to the left is reserved for the icons.
