(to be Scrapped later, eh.)I have an ongoing epic cold with inevitable irritated red nose. And since in France one usually greets friends with the ''bise'', cheek-kissing, I have been warning people off because germs - and I was struck by the pretentious Poe/Phantom shout-out.

Actually, I was referring to the popular meme with a picture of a tiny bat being petted by a single finger and the above caption.
What she says is closer to: "Don't touch me! I am the Red Death passing by!" (Red Death being the character whom the Phantom of the Opera dressed up as for the masquerade scene in the play.)

That wasn't a translation. It says "Don't touch me! I am the Red Death (coming through)" I don't think that last bit would actually be used in English.... My French is a bit rusty though.
