I just wanted to do something with the oh so magical date of 11.11.11. I had this sketched out as just a doodle. Idea behind is about SW fighting and how the battle would end with OP being his opponent. Soundwave would so get his ass kicked.
Not even Laserbeak or his tentacles would help. Nope. (whut ya looking at this in a perv way? ha!)
Phew, managed to do this in 2.5h since I had like 3 hours left before midnight! I don't know how well you see the messyness on smaller version but damnit the big version is like a kid splashed crayons on paper

Oh poor Soundwave. Even without a face (Which is SUPPOSEDLY hidden behind his viser), you can tell how terrified he is, being in such a scary situation. I did a fanfiction for another art that involved Soundwave VS Optimus, and this could have been an outcome for it, if I didn't love Soundwave and Optimus as much as I do. This could also be a continuation to the art I did a fanfiction on, considering both have Soundwave and Optimus in two scenarios, fighting one another as a inbetween and after, but no beginning.
To tell the full on truth, I always wondered how Soundwave would be if he saw that his own spark was about to go out, if he realized his life had fallen off the line, if he felt the warm embrace of death begin to consume him. I feel his last thoughts/line would be:
"I never thought I'd die, I was always considered invincible to anyone who feared me, and anyone who dared to challenge me, would always end up walking away injured, or worse, offlined. Now I see, that, not even I was invincible. YOU, Optimus Prime, certainly are. So end me, end my spark, for I no longer have a purpose. If my one true enemy was YOU, and YOU have bested me, then I have either failed to do what I was created to do, or succeeded in my purpose. I, Soundwave, am at your mercy, and THESE are my final words: Thank you."
If that was his final saying, and if this was his final battle, then I would be at ease, knowing my Favourite Autobot took the life of my Favourite Decepticon.

To me, I like it when Sounders actually shows some emotions, and he actually DID do that in TFP, but him being silent and efficient without anything extra is the very key why I love him so much. 
But I'll be a theoretician now; If the scene you described would come, because of reasons we might not even know, then I'd see Soundwave be the silent one, accepting his inevitable death as something necessary to the cause. Although I'm pretty sure he'd do his everything to not disappoint Megatron, like we saw in season 2!

Soundwave will (Hopefully) always stay true to Megatron's cause, and sometimes I wonder if Soundwave will ever break, if he will ever either see Megatron become nothing more to him, or if he will finally loose it and let his emotions flood free. It's an odd thing to imagine.
Then there's the fandom, which brings that, and more, to life in any character.

As much as I try to muster in TFP canon, I'd say Sounders would rather offline himself than let anyone break him.Β

Months ago, I imagined something similar, but with Optimus telling a defeated Soundwave:
"You do not need your silence to surrender, you have caused harm and now there is no one who can help you. You did not have mercy with anyone, nobody will have it with you."

Yeah, that sounds nice out of context, but that wouldn't be quite right about how Optimus thinks. The Autobot way is to give the Cons a trial.
