Well, Applejack didn't want to slap her so she grabbed her hand instead and said nice things to her (actually because this is based on the video mentioned in the description where Applejack slaps everyone except for Fluttershy because of the Twilight/Timber Spruce pregnancy problem) and the Sci-Twi small thing is because of the model's size.
