Here is my entry for KurtisTheSnivy 's contest: re-imagine Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Guardians of Hope, page 366.

I didn't picked this page because it was my favorite but more like because it was the one I felt the most inspired to redesign.
I fully played the card of artistic freedom: what happens in a few panels and, especially, lines of dialogue has been changed (it does not change the other all story however... at least I don't think so).
I started the page with something more dynamic with a direct clash between Kurtis and his other self. Notice that a literal blue/purple fire replace the shadowy aura kinda stuff. There is also burn marks where the base of the fire is located. However this "aura" is somehow still present in order to distinguish Kurtis from his other self.
There is something that I found... strange for a battle scene in the original page: the characters literally lowers their guard. I always thought it was a Golden Rule in battles. So, I put their guard back up (or at least pointed to the enemy) every time the sword were shown.
As Kurtis is facing his other self, I couldn't do otherwise than including a bit of what I call a "mirror effect" at panels 5, 6, 7 and 8 (showing respectively half of their head and their hand preparing their fire hadoken of the death).
The background of the page of the original page shown a space landscape most likely to refer the power to bend dimensions, the power of which Kurtis and his friends were victims. So, I have done something seemingly with stars in a black background. However, if you look carefully, there is a purple taint in the blackness of space... referring the Bittercold's power.
