How are you able to work on so many characters in once piece?
I can only do one character at a time and i struggle when there are
more then one design element on the page i have to paint.
My colours go out of synch and my values just go flat.
You have a fascinating sense of colour!!

I had this problem with the several characters in one page ! I got there obviously with a lot of practise, and that's surely what you need to do, but :
For the colors I use the "Hue/Saturation" adjustment a lot, it's really an incredible help ! And I try to reuse the colors as much as possible (all the purples are the same, all the skin colors are the same...). And it's funny that for example the same yellow won't look the same next to a grey as next to a bright red for example ! Try those things and play !
I also can say that I started doing this when I tried to do Tshirts design on Threadless : It's limited to 8 colors so you have to play with contrasts and stuff. Well it sure teached me a lot of thing, maybe you can try a limited palette ! : )
