Description I just made another one of these. This is my favorite of the Raven masks I make. It started by accident, because I had a Raven mask that hadn't worked out when I was first testing the dimensional paint and so I painted on it just for practice. I loved the effect so much, that I immediately had to make one for real.

I am loving your new designs.
There's a mask-maker in Venice who uses the 3D paint in a very similar way to you - the small dots creating a delicate effect. Aaah I can't remember his name. I can tell you _exactly_ where his shop is, but that's probably not a lot of use.. lol.
This is lovely though - makes me want to experiment with 3D stuff again.

Hey xothique. Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. I'm in the middle of two theatrical productions trying to get them both up. Most of my inspiration with the paint is from the work of Agostino Dessi in Florence. He has a fabulous book out of his masks and that was where I learned about which paint to use. It is a Pebeo glass outliner paint and comes in this awesome applicator tube which makes it super easy to do the fine detail.

Many thanks for the lovely compliment. It made my day

I've been recently thinking over beaks, and you have lovely design here. I haven't made many masks with high brows like that, maybe I should try that next!

Thanks so much. It reall isn't difficult to make the high brow. I pinch it from the top into basic shape first, and then smooth it till it is perfect with a wooden tool. Have fun.

That is exactly what I was thinking of when I first came up with this design. Someday I want to make a real Plague Doctor, but I've been too busy to come up with a design.

I love the shape above the brow- that's pretty fantastic! Also, you should try getting some sculpting paste (it's essentially just acrylic mixed with marble dust)- mix it with any acrylic/pigment you want to any consistency, and that stuff will give you some AWESOME 3-d effects. I was playing around with it for a while before I got distracted- I think you would really like it (and if you just put it in a plastic baggie and cut off a corner, you can write with it like frosting!).

Jerry's will definitely have it (that's where I get mine, too!)- it comes in a small tub rather than a tube. :-D Keep up the awesome work!

Wow, this is incredible. Such beautiful craftsmanship and well-photographed at that.

What materials did you use for the mask itself?

It is leather painted with acrylic paint.
