Description These are some of the first finished masks that are destined for the Midsummer Night's Dream that I am directing this fall. I painted them to match the materials of the fairies costumes. They are all made from 3-4 oz leather and painted with acrylic paints.

These are so beautiful! I love the multiple colors you used on each of them! The little designs added on are very delicate and lovely too I have submitted this piece to the 'Fairy Wings and Costumes' folder of my group "Fairy Doors and More," an artisan crafts based group with a fairy theme [link] If you are interested in joining or submitting more work please feel invited to do so!

Thanks for submitting my art. I'm sorry, I'm in tech week for my play so I don't have a lot of time to spend on DA. I look forward to checking out this group when my life calms down in a few weeks. jen

Are you available for commision?

I am indeed. I take commissions through my Etsy site. If it is something really complex, I may not be able to do it from a time standpoint until my play goes up at the end of September, but if it is close to what I have done before I can fit it in.

I can send you sketches (when I make them ). I once had this clay mask that I made and was quite fond of. It's not too intraquate, or perhaps something else can be made up. I'm not too picky. Basically, I want beautiful things for my home and I love your work. Time is not an issue.

Generally, I like a traditional theatre or masquerade mask that somehow incorporates a modern twist. I also like darker masks, scary, twisted, maybe a mechanical element. You're the artist, so I won't inhibit you. What inspiration do you need?

I can work from just about anything. Send me your favorite ideas, pictures, or sketches, and fortunately when you drop my masks they don't break.

This is true
Are you able to stamp, carve, burn, and shape/mold your leather? I think I have a concept I'd like you to give a shot.

I haven't done much burning, though I have the tools to do it. I have done a lot of all the rest of stamping, carving, etc. I can mold into just about any shape

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I've been trying to figure out what I might be interested in.

I think I have something in mind, could be interesting. You tell me how you feel about it.

Comedy Tragedy, but not traditionally. Kinda similar to the Hannibal Lecter mask. Something out of an asylum, for a horror theme twist. Like a distressed and aged leather brown and rusty looking metal inplace of the traditional white. Maybe something that it had been previously worn by inmates or something.

I mean, everyone has the normal Comedy/Tragedy. I want something with unique characteristics. I have a home theatre room I'm trying to develope and that would do beautifully on the horror/suspense section! I already have some masks from Rome, Italy. And they're beautiful. So something different. Let me know how you feel about that.

Hey JM, This sounds interesting to me. However, I am totally swamped till after Halloween. Can you ping me again in November if that works with your time frame

Absolutely, there's no rush on this project. I just want something new and interesting for my theatre room and original art is best. I love your work. Just let me know when you're ready.

Omg they look so amazing! The colouring is perfect, and the shapes are great too! I like the colouring of the purple-blue one the most, because these colours remember me of the water and a lot of fantasies ^^ Though, the markings of the green one are better I think ^^ Great job

Thanks so much. I had a blast making them. I haven't done this kind of ornamentation before so it was an experiment.
