Description This meme is not a shot. It is only a comedic jab. I do love Thomas and The Magic Railroad. I have loved it for 10 years. Even with it's obvious plentiful flaws, It's quite entertaining, thanks to Britt Alcroft. Yes, even B-list celebrity / D-list conductor Alec Baldwin. While Sharon Miller's writing of the show and movies are underwhelming at best, different people write G-rated shows differently. And that's no reason to bash her work, however trashy it may be.

Toby sure seems to think so.

TATMR is worse than Misty Island Rescue any day of the week, in my opinion, seeing as it's not canon to the show.

That's actually what makes TATMR more tolerable than MIR. You can see it as one of Alec Baldwin's drug dreams.

You can't do that with Misty Island Rescue.Β

Hiro Of the Rails: An okay film but somewhat of an omen of things to come.
Misty Island Rescue: Honestly the worst of the four films but I'm okay with it to some degrees & honestly don't have a problem with the logging locos.
Day of The Diesels: Truly the film that did it for me & made me come to my senses on what has become of the show at the time. Other than that it's able to be stomached.
Blue Mountain Mystery: An absolute beauty & despite some flawed rhyming dialog it not only helped to give Victor some character development but also managed to end off the Miller era on a somewhat high note as a way to show that there truly are diamonds in the rough. Also the songs in here are catchy as hell. One of them even being re-written to fit the mood of King of the Railway.

I pretty much like the movie for the Thomas character shots, not the live action moments.

magic railroad is good if you see it as a fever dream, can't do that with miller's era as it's meant to be canon.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PilloTheStar In reply to flyingtardis [2016-12-08 21:19:51 +0000 UTC]

That may be true, but it's also canon that Donald and Douglass were gone collecting ballast for about 11 years.

flyingtardis In reply to PilloTheStar [2016-12-08 22:00:15 +0000 UTC]

technically not, they were probably the only engines doing as they were told and doing work, like most of Β the other permanant residents on the island we've not seen in years, the thing duck says is a fourth wall breaking nod to the fans, doesn't mean they were collecting ballast all the while.

I don't hate what miller did to the show, i just saw it as the trend in kids shows at the time as a few shows where similarly written (thankfully that trend wore off) and I do like TATMR because it was different take on the show (wee it as alternative universe) so to me the film isn't cannon BUT did have some (only a few) good ideas like the diesel v steam and the bridge collapse...while D10 is a bit wrong in my mind with the claw, i see him as a very unique and well written character (properly one of two the other being Mr stone cause he shows love and compassion for lady and the best human actor in the film i say)

However TATMR do have its flaws......too many to lists....but....enough to make??? DING! *Runs off and makes plans*

I heard all the fuzz about that movie and finally watched it... I think the plot was rather thin and borderline nonsense at times. I hated the movie, but I liked the characters in it, such as D-10 and Splodge, though I miss some backing stories, such as how D-10 came to the island and why Thomas knows him... and where Splodge came from and where they went after abandoning D-10.
