Description
This was a water painting that I did about a year ago. It was very challenging for me, but I learned a lot. I learned how to blend colors and how to sharpen up some edges. I hope that you all enjoy. Feel free to add a comment. :3Related content

How beautiful! You did a great job with blending the soft shades of the petals, but still keeping each one distinct from the rest~

This is a beautiful painting. Watercolor can be hard to handle, but you've done a good job! I especially love the rose's petals. Great work!

Look at how smooth the colors and the painting strokes right there. The lighting did great too for the rose's petal (it made me wanna touch it, really XD) it's the somewhat peaceful, breezy ambient. In other way, the brownish/golden background which did a quite contrast to the flower (its petal and green-brown leafs and stalks) also give some....sadness to the drawing.

I love the dulled out colors of the stem and the background in contrast with the rose. It gives off this cool vibe, not sure what to describe it tho XD

Hi, so, I want you to know that I don’t do art. Nor do I have any knowledge of it more than “this looks good” & “this looks off.” So, please, take any critique with not just a grain but a whole gallon of salt.
First of all, I want to say that this rose is so stunning. You picked a great choice for the color as it’s blended rather well, and the stem/leaves/thornes look gorgeous as well. I can almost touch it. But the background leaves me a little confused. Are there other flowers in the background? Is it in a garden? Is it simply a backdrop? Is it part of a quilt? Is it outside? It looks like there are also two sources of light, coming from the right and left, which also leaves me a bit confused.
Maybe I don’t know anything at all.
BUT I still really like that rose. It’s very beautiful.

I actually just wanted the foreground in focus/background out of focus - leaving it up to the viewer's interpretation and making more of an impressionistic style & feeling. I also intended for the multiple light sources. And thank you, I really appreciate it!
