Having existed for thousands of years before the rise of Equestria, the Griffin Empire has seen its neighbor as a sort of little sister, one that they would be willing to do anything for. Its principles of honor and truth, as well as vigilance and loyalty, make them a country where people are judged by who they are, rather than what they are. Indeed, many Ponies seeking refuge from the Windigoes invading their home of what is now called Andalasia were welcomed with open arms to the Griffin Empire, and there are many citizens from all over the world who live in harmony with the Griffin people. When the Solar Empire refused to recognize the Griffin Empire's sovereignty in 2231, the Emperor, benevolent Kahira IV, ordered his citizens to willingly leave Equestria "rather than stain our wings with dishonor by fighting like cowards against a regime who would crush us if we fought back" and go to the Prison Worlds. When the New Lunar Republic arose in 2321, the Griffins were among those who joined their ranks, and when the Civil War broke out in 2349, the Griffin Empire would fight on the side of the NLR, fighting like true warriors and not dishonoring themselves by fighting back against the Solar Empire; inspired by the words of a madman in a blue box who told them, "Bad laws were meant to be broken." When the Civil War ended and the UCE was founded, the Griffin Empire was restored its homeland to the southwest of Equestria and gave them full representation on the Confederation's Military Councils, the Council of Generals and the Admiralty Board. Now, they seek to end the war with the Royal Canid Empire and fight against their true enemies... the Shivans.

The background's colors, yellow and white, represent the four values of the Griffin Empire. Vigilance and honor, the first two values, are represented in the yellow parts of it, while the white parts represent loyalty and truth, the other two values. They also show that the while they are a nation of Griffins, who are natural enemies of the horse, their behavior is more like their opposite, the Olphinicus, who are friends to the horse. The text on the flag is white on the yellow background and yellow on the white background to show that the four values need to co-exist with each other if the Empire is to survive and also show that this nation is truly what it claims to be--one of honesty, loyalty, vigilance, and honor. There is literally nothing that the Griffin Empire hides from its citizens or its allies, and that is why it is such a good friend to Equestria. It is also in the "USS Dallas" font to show that the Griffins aren't just a bunch of Luddites but keep in stride with every technological leap made in the world, from the wheel to the Subspace Drive.

This has to be one of the coolest flags that I've developed, it really does look like a flag that the Griffins would use.
