You know, I'm usually a fan of the human form revealed; we live our lives in a fabulous piece of biological machinery, and we tend to be rather inhibited about displaying certain bits of it. In this case, though, I think I prefer the clothed version. The loin cloth seems to help direct the flow of the image. Likewise, the nipple jewelry does a good job of breaking up the splash of light on the chest, and thereby drawing the eye.
In both cases (obviously), I also like the composition/layout of the image. If I may offer a small critique, a bit of light on John's head might likewise help draw the eye to your secondary subject. However, on the whole, it's a wonderful, powerful pic!
