The bighorn sheep are on the backside of the elk refuge this time of year. (I only know this thanks to Rick Thiemke, aka *season2taste .) Mostly they stay up high, but yesterday a dozen rams came all the way down to the road. They were licking it... for minerals I presume. One of them even licked my rear passenger door!Related content

Nature is beautiful itself, but most of the time some moments like this only can be seen through the lens of a great photographer like you. So, thank you for sharing it!

No flowers yet. I went out looking for insects (butterflies and whatnot) several weeks ago and felt rather silly because there was still a lot of snow at Game Creek. Getting a bit ahead of myself.

If I were to go out hiking I wouldn't find that much either. I'm seeing the elk and the sheep thanks to the refuge (and even a wolf). As for moose and deer, they are in more "civilized" areas right now due to shortage of food. As soon as things start to green up, they'll all be gone. So I'm making the most of this magical time! It's amazing.
