Great mood. It reminds me a lot of the fall storms that used to come when I lived in Canada.

So glad you like it.  It's not everyone's cup of tea.

Florida is great for a vacation but that scene is home.

Well, I'm in agreement with you there.  In fact I just booked my Florida vacation this morning.

To Sanibel for the holidays.  One of my favorite places in the world.

I haven't made it there yet but I've always wanted to because of Ding. I'm further north in the Clearwater area but we spent a year living in Ft. Lauderdale as well. Hard to make a living and summer is brutal but it's not bad for photo ops.

It combines two of my passions--beach-combing and birds.  Hard to beat.

I lived in Melbourne for a year and a half so I got to experience that summer-time heat and humidity.  Though to tell you the truth, I'm not sure it was any worse than a D.C. summer.

I think the heat and humidity is probably the same. I had the same thing in Toronto due to the surrounding great lakes. The big difference for me is the length it lasts. I don't handle heat well so when you have it from April to December it's just too long for me. The schools here are weird too and it just makes it worse. Dress code requires modest dress so no tank tops, open toed shoes, or shorter skirts. It makes it difficult when the schools are designed so that all doors lead to the outdoors and you are required to stand and hold them open during passing periods. All the a/c in your room leaves during the 6 minutes you hold the door open and you do that every 45 minutes. Weird system. Still, a good place to be when you do get time off.

Holding the door open for six minutes makes no sense at all... unless to cool off the great outdoors.  What a waste of energy and comfort.  I can understand why you'd be frustrated.

My kinda place, too Tris!   I'm always pleased when I can see your take on your Wyoming though   The grey season *can* be beautiful and you've captured it very nicely here with really nice detail in yonder storm clouds.  With where you're at it might be a blizzard up high and rain down low or both.  Maybe the worst of it was reflected back up to the sky from that great mirror in the foreground.

I was very sorry to hear of the fire in downtown Dubois just before Christmas   I suppose everything has to change sooner or later--it will be very different to see after that right angle left turn.  I never did find out what caused it--had you heard?

Wherever that weather was coming from it moved in fast.  But I got to see the whole shebang from the comfort of my living room, which made me infinitely happy.  I do love a storm!

Wow.  I didn't even know about the fire in Dubois.  I was on Sanibel all of December and I probably wouldn't have even heard if Yellowstone had blown.  (I tend to insulate myself when in paradise.)

So how's the new transport?

A living room isn't a bad place to watch a stormy shebang   I prefer it myself, in fact

I had forgotten you went to Sanibel   Oh well, you didn't miss much--except the fire, of course but that's ok too   I'd be having my lines of communication down too if I was in paradise

I haven't gotten to new truck yet but word is I am to pick it up tomorrow evening (I am dizzy with anticipation to spend the next year chasing down all the bugs the electrical system is sure to have )  Sorry, that last was dripping with sarcasm--it just doesn't translate well in a typed message

Perhaps the new truck will surprise you.  But in a good way.  Then again, a few foibles will make her so much more interesting.

I did luck out with that "calm before the storm" thing.  And I got myself out of there very quickly.

Love the reflection of the trees in the water...think that's my favorite part!

The water in the marsh is low right now and it makes it more interesting... though I'm not entirely sure why.

Thanks!  The incoming storm definitely made things more interesting.  At least for a gray sky lover like me.
